Studio Voltaire is a residential interior design studio serving Rhode Island and Massachusetts, bringing a distinctly French sensibility to renovations and residential interiors. We combine expertise, imagination, and attention to detail to create interiors that feel refined, personal, and beautifully lived in.
Working in close collaboration with our clients, we craft bespoke interiors shaped by space, volume, light, color, and materials—always reflecting the spirit and personality of the people who live in them.
OUR STORY
Studio Voltaire was founded in 2020 by Julie Wechsler, a French interior designer with fifteen years of experience working in France and the United States. With a European background and training at École Boulle in Paris, Julie brings an appreciation for proportion, natural materials, craftsmanship, and thoughtful detail to her work. She has received numerous awards and distinctions throughout her career, from early design competitions at École Boulle to the Best of Houzz – Design Award, recognizing her residential interior design work.
Julie remains personally involved throughout each project, from the first conversations and space planning through material selections, custom cabinetry, furnishings, and the final details. Her experience includes full-scale renovations as well as bespoke interior and millwork design, always developed in close collaboration with her clients. The result is a home that feels considered and individual, shaped as much by the people who live there as by the architecture itself.
